Hands-On | Mitsuro Hikime with Jennifer Stenhouse

Event description

Join us for a two-hour hands-on evening with traditional Japanese mitsuro hikime wax working, with instructor Jennifer Stenhouse.

Jennifer has recently formulated her very own wax, making this traditional Japanese wax working technique more accessible to those of us in the US. Distributed by and now available from Lion Punch Forge, this taffy-like wax produces a beautiful organic texture when stretched and wrapped around a mandrel or similar.

This traditional technique is used to create unique wax molds which can then be cast into the metal of your choice. Casting not included.

Come and give it a shot! Jennifer will start us off with some demonstrations and have samples on hand for purchase. Tools and materials list to be provided soon!

Registered guests, join us prior to the event's start at 5pm for light refreshments.
