Hands-On Varroa and Hive Health Workshop | Kalgoorlie
Event description
This group practical session provides an essential opportunity for beekeepers to develop the hands-on skills needed to detect Varroa mites early and confidently. Led by two of WA’s Varroa Development Officers, this interactive field session will take place in the apiary, where participants will work directly with live colonies.

Varroa surveillance methods including alcohol wash and drone uncapping
Queen identification and marking
General hive health management techniques
Record keeping and reporting tips
This is a great opportunity to gain practical skills and tips to safeguard your hives and contribute to the early detection efforts that are vital to protecting WA’s thriving beekeeping industry.
This workshop is being held in a private apiary. Full address will be provided after registration.
