Hanen: It Takes Two to Talk

The Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program is a program designed specifically for parents of young children (birth to 5 years of age) who have been identified as having a language delay. This program will provide you with practical and applicable skills to help your child communicate and interact during everyday routines and activities. It will be run by one of The Infants' Home's experienced Speech Pathologists.

This program will consist of:

- 1 pre-program orientation session

- 8 group parent sessions (3 hours each)

- A pre-program consultation for you and your child with a speech pathologist (1.5 hours)

- 3 individual visits for you and your child with a speech pathologist. During these visits you will be recorded while practicing strategies to help your child achieve specific communication goals.

- End of group report

This evidence-based program has been proven to support the communication development of young children (0-5 years), and will be held here on site at The Infants Home between April and June, on a Wednesday or Thursday in 2025. The specific time is to be confirmed, and we welcome your feedback as to the best day or time for you.

This program is equivalent to approximately 30 hours of therapy, and the estimated cost will be $2,861. This program can be funded through NDIS funding or can also be paid for privately.
