Hannah Macklin and Brandon Mamata Duo

Fresh from 10 days of performances at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka and ahead of her Brisbane Festival theatre debut, acclaimed vocalist and composer Hannah Macklin is set for an intimate duo show with guitarist Brandon Mamata at Minokō, on Saturday August 30. Expect a laid-back evening of Hannah’s original works—jazz, soul, classical, and cosmic storytelling—in this intimate setting with two of Australia's most dynamic musical voices. 

A graduate of the QLD Conservatorium Griffith University, Hannah’s vocal stylings incorporate jazz, classical, world, R&B and progressive sounds. As a songwriter, she delves into similar territory offering unique perspectives on world issues, love and spirituality. With 10 original releases (six singles, three EPs and one LP) under her belt, Hannah is currently in pre-production mode for her second full-length album. 

Brandon Mamata is a graduate of Brisbane’s Jazz Music Institute and one of the country’s most dynamic, diverse and dexterous guitarists. Having studied under Ben Hauptmann and toured internationally with Katie Noonan, as well as being a core member of improvised hip-hop collective Life on Earth, Brandon is now writing and developing his own original music/band, and is an increasingly prominent voice in the black music community.
