In this session, Hanover Senior Grants Consultant Tom Kuhn will cover the core elements of competitive grant writing for U.S.-based funders. Topics will include a discussion of academic writing vs. grant writing, how, when and how to seek feedback, the core elements of a grant narrative, organizational tips, and how to leverage resources both in and outside of your institution. This 60 minute session will include opportunities for interaction, including discussion points and Q&A.

Presenter: Tom Kuhn, Senior Grants Consultant

Tom focuses on assisting partners with the full range of consulting and training on funding strategy, project and research design, and proposal development. He has substantial experience in project management and evidence based program design for the development of complex projects across all areas of STEM research and education, health sciences and technologies, and technology transfer and commercialization. He works with executive, faculty, technology, and clinical teams to develop and fund innovative bench science and support transition to practice in multiple public and private sectors. He is actively assisting faculty researchers, universities, and private businesses working to conceptualize and realize commercial success of innovative technologies. Tom has helped clients secure $ million in grant and contracts and serves as a reviewer for several federal agencies and competitions.
