Whose voices are missing from the decisions that shape our systems? How do we shift power so that truth-telling, self-determination and genuine collaboration lead the way?

The 2025 Rev. Harry Herbert Oration will honour the legacy of Rev. Harry Herbert, fierce advocate and trailblazer, by shining a light on what it takes to disrupt entrenched disadvantage and create a future where influence is shared and impacted communities are at the forefront of designing solutions.

The keynote address will be delivered by Sue-Anne Hunter, the newly appointed inaugural National Commissioner for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People. A proud Wurundjeri and Ngurai Illum Wurrung woman, Commissioner Hunter will draw on her leadership with the Yoorrook Justice Commission – Australia’s first formal First Nations-led truth-telling process – to explore how truth-telling strengthens justice, lays the groundwork for reform, and creates the possibility of shifting power and healing.
