HARU | Entering Spring Time | Beginner Gouache Painting Workshop

Embrace the new season. Let’s give space to a new creation. Spend the afternoon with Rochelle from The Shah Closet exploring the gouache medium, reflecting on what spring means to us and capturing the transient beauty of spring flowers.

You will leave this workshop learning how to sketch your subject, basic colour theory, and a simple floral artwork that is a gentle reminder of staying present and going along with new seasons.

Gouache is all about intentionality. This painting medium asks us to be considerate of each stroke and colour. Once we commit to a change, we are asked to accept and embrace it’s outcomes.

Rochelle is a Dharawal-based gouache artist that loves to embrace colour. In 2023 she lived in the ski-town of Niseko where she lived in the Japanese winter.

In the spring, she solo-travelling to chase the cherry blossoms around Japan. There she learnt to embrace new opportunites, step into her creativity and find comfort in change.

Rochelle runs the Shah Closet which she uses to embrace her Indonesian and Iranian heritage. She sells her artworks online and at selected art markets.
