Learn clever techniques to make your edible garden more sustainable and save money, including preserving your harvest for colder months and collecting and storing seed to use for propagating your own seedlings. And learn some good foraging guidelines.

About Karen:

Karen Sutherland has grown her own food since she could wield a shovel and has 40 years of horticultural experience, training at Ceres, Melbourne Zoo, Burnley College and with Bill Mollison for her PDC. Her business Edible Eden Design helps others grow food, through consulting, designing, writing, and educating. Working with schools and community groups, she designs bush food and indigenous teaching gardens and has developed her own range of plant ID signs for these. Her own garden, Gunyah, has 200 edible and useful plants, including 40 Australian natives. She co-authored ‘Tomato; Know Sow Grow Feast’ with Penny Woodward and Janice Sutton, writes for Organic Gardener and Green Magazine and appears on 3CR gardening radio. She has studied indigenous culture and medicine for the last 7 or so years with her Wiradjuri teacher, Minmia.
