Hauora by the seasons - ngahuru (autumn)
Event description
This programme of quarterly wellbeing webinars has been created by Tuihana Ohia to support community hauora. Each workshop draws on mataraunga Māori to acknowledge the changing seasons and how each season brings new opportunities to nurture our wellbeing. Time is included in the workshops for reflection and learning from our shared hauora experiences.
Tuihana (Ngāi te Rangi, Ngāti Pukenga, Te Arawa, Ngāi Pākehā) has created a number of hauora webinars and resources for the Centre for Social Impact. In creating her webinars, Tuihana draws on her experience in designing and implementing a number of significant wellbeing initiatives including Vodafone’s Manaaki Support Network and Te Wānanga o Aotearoa’s wellbeing programme Tau Ora.
Note: You are welcome to attend as many of these sessions with Tuihana as you like.
Ngahuru to Takurua - Autumn to Winter
As we move through Ngahuru we look towards Matariki. This is a time to start to reflect on the year past, and set intentions for Takurua and the year to come.
As temperatures start to drop, this is a time we often want to reach for comfort kai and hibernate in our whare. This is a time to build our layer of protection as we enter a challenging time for our wellbeing – Takurua. This session will set us up with a hauora plan for the winter months.
