    Event description

Haus of Horror presents "A Nightmare on Elm St" on Cockatoo Island/Wareamah.

    Australia's number one immersive cinema
is excited to welcome you to the UNESCO world heritage site Cockatoo Island/Wareamah for a two-day spookathon under the stars.

Each ticket grants you a private, return chartered themed ferry whisking you across the harbour,  multiple scare zones, island exploration pre-film, entry to bars and diverse food vendors as well as a live DJ accompanying the sunset. Step into the film and have your photo taken in our immersive photo booth, wander around and meet special guests, and the grand finale – A Nightmare on Elm St against the breathtaking backdrop of Sydney Harbour! Arrive early to take it all in!

WHEN: Event begins at 5pm, with the film beginning at sunset.

    HOW TO GET THERE:

Your ticket includes a private, return, chartered ferry to whisk you across the harbour to Elm St; with a special guest or two and some spooky surprises. Please purchase the ticket that corresponds to your preferred ferry departure time. All private, themed ferries will depart from King St Wharf at Barangaroo. All tickets include this ferry to and from The Island.

If you'd prefer not to take our private ferry that's included in your ticket, Cockatoo Island is also accessible via the public ferry, or water taxi.

Once on Cockatoo Island, the cinema venue is a short walk through the spooky former Industrial Precinct. You never know who you'll meet in the dark...

Please note the site includes former industrial spaces and outdoor areas. We advise sensible footwear as the site has uneven ground throughout.

    WET WEATHER PLAN
We keep an eye on the changing weather before any event. We're blessed that this location has an awe-inspiring indoor space to move this event to, about 30 metres from the outdoor space. The Turbine Hall is an incredible building, rich with history and large enough for 600 people to watch a film. While all Scare Zones, Photo Booths etc are already inside, if we make the choice to move the screening indoors, all attendees will receive an email the morning of.

    Public Ferry

The F3 and F8 services operate to Cockatoo Island, departing from Circular Quay and Barangaroo as well as from wharves along Parramatta River. For further information, including timetables please click HERE.
