Hawk Rise Sanctuary Outing

Field Trip! Nestled in an unlikely industrial area between oil fields, strip malls, and former landfill, Hawk Rise Sanctuary is a surprising ecological refuge. Designed by birders (NJ Audubon & the DEP) for birds and birders, it offers varied habitats accessible in a small area: mudflats, vernal pools, marsh, meadow, and woods. Walking around during migration is a great time to see bird life and imagine the area's future and its past. The journey to and from the site is an experience in itself. We hope you'll join us there ~

• Spare binoculars will be available. 

• Accessibility: Route will be a couple of miles on flat ground, a mix of pavement, boardwalk, and gravel. There are port-a-potties on site near the entrance.
