Codes of Practice: Explanation of hazardous manual tasks Model Code of Practice. (Safework Australia) Application of these Codes in developing risk assessments and safety procedures.

 

Identify Hazardous Manual Tasks: Participants will be able to recognise various hazardous manual tasks commonly encountered in the electrical industry, such as lifting heavy objects, working in confined spaces, and handling vibrating tools.

Assess Risk Factors: Participants will learn how to assess the risks associated with hazardous manual tasks, including evaluating the physical demands, environmental conditions, and potential for injury.

Implement Control Measures: Participants will be able to apply effective control measures to minimise the risk of injury from hazardous manual tasks, such as proper lifting techniques, use of mechanical aids, and ergonomic adjustments.

Develop Safe Work Procedures: Participants will be able to create and implement safe work procedures and practices tailored to specific manual tasks to enhance workplace safety. Recognise Signs of MSD's: Participants will be able to identify early signs of MSD's and take appropriate actions to prevent further harm or address injuries promptly.

Promote a Safety Culture: Participants will learn strategies for promoting a safety culture within their workplace, including how to encourage adherence to safety procedures.
