• A bit more about our Speaker:

  Roy Wakelin-King AM is an accomplished senior executive whose career has spanned government, industry and the for-purpose sector. Most recently, Roy served as Chief Executive of The Gut Foundation, leading the charity in its mission to improve the digestive health of Australians, including supporting fundraising for research into bowel cancer. This role followed an extensive executive career and reflects Roy’s own experience of bringing established leadership skills and expertise into a purpose-led organisation.

  Roy’s diverse career has included senior leadership roles with NSW Roads and Maritime Services, the World Youth Day Coordination Authority and the NSW Taxi Council, as well as service as a commissioned officer in the Australian Army, including active service in Somalia. He has also served on the Boards of Parkinson’s NSW and Surf Lifesaving Illawarra. Awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2009, Roy brings to Head & Heart valuable first-hand insight into transitioning from corporate and government leadership into the for-purpose sector, and how experienced leaders can apply their skills to create meaningful social impact.
