• A bit about Sean: Sean McGuinness is a highly respected senior finance and governance leader with more than 25 years of international experience as a CFO across the Energy & Natural Resources, Consumer Packaging and Health sectors. His career spans ASX-listed organisations, private-equity-backed enterprises and profit-for-purpose organisations, where he has led complex mergers, acquisitions and large-scale financing initiatives. Known for his collaborative leadership style, Sean works closely with boards and executive teams to transform finance and operations functions, strengthen governance and unlock long-term organisational value.

   After a successful corporate career, Sean made a deliberate transition into the for-purpose sector, motivated by a desire to apply his commercial expertise to organisations delivering meaningful community impact. This shift has seen him focus on aligning financial sustainability with mission, culture and outcomes — demonstrating how strong governance, disciplined capital management and values-led leadership can coexist to drive social good.

   Sean has been a committed leader in the profit-for-purpose sector for over a decade, most notably he served as Chair of St John Ambulance Australia (NSW) for almost a decade while also sitting on the National Board. In these roles, he has played a pivotal part in shaping organisational strategy, culture, governance and national impact. Sean is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, and joined the Lung Foundation Australia Board in September 2025.
