    Event description

An insightful and thought-provoking workshop designed for individuals wanting to take the first step to learn more about the for-purpose arena and carve out a unique path to working ‘on purpose’. Especially relevant in today's world where many people are looking to support a charity (or two) through volunteering.

For those looking for a career pivot or seeking further engagement from their work, this workshop is designed to help participants work through a Personal Impact Framework providing an actionable pathway to engage in and contribute to the for-purpose economy.

Our guest speaker for Wednesday 15 May will be Rob Kennaugh, recently appointed CEO of YMCA NSW.

Rob Kennaugh has an extensive commercial executive career managing large operational teams at several national ASX listed organisations such as the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Telstra, and Origin Energy. He has combined this commercial experience with a lifelong dedication to positively impacting people in need, across the community. Rob has had the unique opportunity to be a strong advocate for social impact and change, working with a highly committed and influential business network to support and achieve important social outcomes across the Australian community. Some of these initiatives have included:

    • leading resilience and connection programs for young people from domestic violence settings
    • establishing a business which ran programs for young people assisting them to develop important life skills such as goal setting, financial planning, and resilience
    • providing “free” employment services for people experiencing disadvantage and financial hardship
    • creating essential services and assistance for victims of domestic and family violence.

Rob is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is currently on the Board of Community Connections Australia and the Sisters of St Joseph Spirituality Ministry - previous Non-Executive Director roles include Parents Beyond Break-up, Australian Health Management and Sydney Credit Union.

Rob was recently appointed the CEO of YMCA NSW, where he will be working with a passionate and committed team of people to develop and progress youth support services across NSW, to mould more self-confident, self-assured, and inspired young people.

In this workshop, you will hear insights collected over the past decade by the People for Purpose team on the challenges and opportunities that face the sector.

Head & Heart workshops provide participants with:

    • a solid understanding of the Australian for-purpose arena
    • clarity around personal purpose
    • resources to initiate steps to engagement
    • connectivity to others on a similar journey

"The Head and Heart workshop was fantastic. It was inspiring and informative and it has given me immense food for thought. I was every motivated by Rachael’s story and her passion for the sector. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to others."

"People for Purpose helped me make the successful transition from the corporate world to the for- purpose sector after 25 years at Qantas. The advice I was given was valuable and simple and I am loving my new executive role with the Royal Institute for the Deaf and Blind. Thank you People for Purpose."
