RELEASE + RECEIVE
Saturday 10 October · 4:00–8:00pm
RELEASE + RECEIVE is an afternoon of reflection, honest conversation, embodied movement and deep rest, exploring what it means to let go, make space and allow ourselves to receive.
We'll begin with guided reflection and conversation, creating space to name and witness some of what we've been holding, without needing to fix or resolve it.
From there, we'll move from words into the body through a guided embodied movement journey. This isn't a dance class. There are no steps to learn and nothing to perform. You'll be invited to follow sensation, music and your own body as we move through awareness, expression and release.
Move big, move gently, be still, laugh, rest. There is no right way to do this and no expectation of catharsis or transformation.
After movement, we'll slow things down. There'll be space to connect and settle before moving into an immersive sunset sound bath weaving sound, voice and vibration into an invitation to soften, rest and receive.
Receive care. Receive rest. Receive pleasure. Receive community.
Receive whatever there is space for.
We'll end slowly, with food, music and time to linger together.
Come as you are. Release what you can. Receive what you need.
About Healing-ish
Healing-ish creates culturally curated spaces where BIPOC people can connect, feel seen and experience more of the belonging that can be hard to find elsewhere.
Our mission is simple: to create spaces where we don't have to do life — or healing — alone. We bring together culture, community, and connection in ways that make room for us to show up as we are.
Who is this for?
RELEASE + RECEIVE is a women's-only event created specifically for women of colour.
You don't need any previous experience with embodied movement, sharing circles, sound baths or anything else we'll be doing. There is no right way to participate, and you're always invited to honour what feels comfortable for you.
You don't need to arrive feeling particularly "healed", either.
Neither do we.
That's kind of the point.
