Healing the Witch Wound

Event description

Join us in the Red Tent on Sunday, 1st September for a very special circle-

Healing the Witch Wound.

Our Facilitator this month is Dawn

  • Have you ever felt that you are too much?
  • Been told you are "Extra" or "Dramatic"?
  • Your laugh is too loud, you should be quiet, stay hidden, hide your gifts, be seen but not heard?
  • Do you fear being around other women?
  • Can't trust them easily?
  • Do you feel that you are constantly in competition with other women?

Oh this list goes on!!

"Come with me on a journey to explore the Witch Wound; where it comes from, how it shows up in our lives, and what steps we can take to heal this wound within ourselves so we can: Reclaim our Magick and step into our Power as women, and find our voices to speak the words on our hearts without fear of persecution."

Dawn is a Witch and has been a practitioner for over 30 years. Over the years she has come to realise how strong the Witch Wound is in our society today, has delved into where it comes from and has looked at and practiced, taken on ways to heal it.

She will help us dive into what the Witch Wound actually is, where it comes from and help us reflect on how it affects us in our everyday lives as women.

During this circle Dawn will lead us on a journey to discover and share ways and steps that we can take to heal our personal with Witch Wound.

    About Dawn Maley
I was attracted to Red tent Aotearoa as I believe that women need to sit in circle, not because we need healing, for we are perfect as we are, but because we need replenishment.

Women need to go deep. Sitting in circle nourishes the soul, the heart and the spirit.
With Red Tent I have found a safe, nourishing space where I feel seen, held and no longer alone when I am in my feminine power.

I have sat in circle for many years, in sacred ceremony, in transformational events and in deep heart sharing circles.

I am pagan, a witch and am attuned to sacred ritual.
As I am entering my crone years I can feel the potent wisdom rising within me and I am drawn to share my experience, knowledge, curiosity and capacity to hold space with other women.

I am drawn to offer wisdom circles, for mature women, who are coming into the transmuting women and/or Crone years.

I live in North Canterbury so am keen to bring a Red Tent to our local community.
So who am I? I am a baby Crone, slowly & fully embracing this time of my life. I am the proud mother of 4 queer children.

In my spare time I am a Celebrant, a Massage Therapist and Clinical Aromatherapist. I work for a Charitable trust as a team leader and am a founder member of a charitable trust that is all about women supporting women.

    About Red Tent Aotearoa-

    "What women want is CONNECTION.
Not on a superficial level, but a REAL connection and support."

    ~Jill Natalia (RTA founder)

The Red Tent is a place for women to feel that connection and to offer and receive that support.
We want to help women to free themselves from the isolation of today’s modern world and find their tribe.

Red Tent Aotearoa has the aim to connect, collaborate, and create a community of strong and educated women in a supportive & nurturing environment.
We establish community networks and support between women by hosting local gatherings, and events in what we call 'Red Tents.'

Red Tent Aotearoa is not religious, and we invite anyone who identifies as female from 11 years + from all walks of life.
It’s our hope for everyone who enters each Red Tent to experience a sense of belonging, sisterhood, and strength that stays with them from then on.

    FAQ:
What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?

The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamant.
Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard.
There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset.

Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman to share her story, experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of Grief, The Power of Menstrual Cycle Awareness, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, and The Power of Humility.

Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.

Who is the host and why does she do this?

We have many Red Tent Aotearoa trained facilitators across the country.
Each Red Tent is hosted by someone different.

Jill Natalia is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia.
She is a Holistic Counsellor and Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ. Born in Ōtautahi, Christchurch, she left when she was 18 and returned 28 years later in 2020.

Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication. She has dedicated the last 11 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa.  Organisations that helps start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country. Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.
