Health Consumer, Carer & Change Agent Networking & Morning Tea | Bunuru 25
Event description
Guest speaker on implementing change as a consumer
Our session will kick-off with rockstar consumer champion, Jane Pearce, as she shares her experience with implementing change as a consumer. Jane has been pivotal in implementing the use of Teach Back across Fiona Stanley Hospital. Teach Back is all about improving communication between clinicians and consumers, ensuring we all can understand what is happening to us when we are in hospital. Jane is the chair of Fiona Stanley Hospital's Emergency Department Consumer Advisory Group and is looking to share their lessons learnt and answer any questions you may have.
You will also have an opportunity to hear what HCCWA has been focused on from our Executive Director, Clare Mullen. One recent activity we are especially keen to share is the Health Engagement Network which is becoming a hub for consumer representative positions that we are asked to share, and a place we hope to continue expanding for training and as a place for consumer representatives to start discussions!
Our conversation will start at 10am and end at 11.30am.
