Digital Health Consumer Roundtable - Embedding Health Literacy
Event description
Hosted by Health Consumers’ Council WA (HCCWA), this event informs the work of the WA Health Electronic Medical Record (EMR) program as the state moves to commission a single, statewide EMR.
An EMR brings a shift to the digital tools and workflows that will surround our care in hospitals. One benefit of this may well be an increase to our access to health information and how accessible it is to understand this (our health literacy). With timely, accessible information, people can make safer and more informed choices.
Join a discussion with guest panelists as we unpick who’s doing health literacy well, what good health literacy can look like and how consumer voices can be embedded in information design.
Session guide:
Health literacy 101: What tools and practices are commonly used to inform and involve consumers in their health (e.g., Electronic Patient Care Plans)
Online information tools: how clinicians can step through a structured process and demonstrate meaningful consumer involvement in developing or using materials.
Engagement: 60-minute Q&A with panelists + 60-minute roundtable discussions.
Places strictly limited to 30, register your interest to apply. Selected attendees will be notified and receive a Zoom link. Attendees are offered a $75 consumer payment.
