Description

An opportunity to connect, learn, and collaborate across clinical, MedTech, and AI research networks. Hosted by Medtech-iQ Tamaki Makaurau.

Join us for an afternoon of inspiration and connection across Auckland's health technology researchers, clinicians, and innovators. You will discover the opportunities available to help you upskill, secure funding, and accelerate your own journey. You'll have the chance to discuss your projects and questions with clinicians, and learn firsthand from clinicians who have successfully taken their ideas from concept into successful MedTech start-ups.

Even if you are just curious, you’ll walk away with new contacts and insights into commercialisation, and translational pathways in HealthTech.

Panel Discussion: Navigating Clinical Translation and Building the Right Connections

To help address the wide range of challenges and questions submitted by attendees, this session will take the form of an interactive panel discussion. The panel format will allow us to share practical lessons learned, and address a broader range of questions than would be possible in a traditional networking or mentoring session. The panel brings valuable insights from both clinical practice and entrepreneurship, including the realities of building a MedTech company.

The discussion will feature:

Professor John Windsor, University of Auckland

Robyn Whittaker, Clinical Director Medtech-iQ and Health X

Dr Adrian Ng, a New Zealand General Practitioner, Urgent Care Physician and medical technology entrepreneur, and the CEO of RapiDose Project.

If you are an early-career/emerging researcher or student:

  • Explore if research translation and commercialisation may be the impact pathway for your research.

  • Build your network across disciplines and see how cross-sector partnerships can elevate your work.

  • See possible trajectories beyond traditional academia, including entrepreneurship or translational research.

  • Make some new connections and spark new ideas and collaborations.

If you are a clinician:

  • Bring a clinical problem you see daily and meet researchers with capabilities to develop innovative solutions with you.
