Heal the Healer: A Community Circle for BIPOC Therapists
Description
Come join us at Casa Wellness NYC for our Heal the Healer: Community Circle!
This is an opportunity for BIPOC therapists to breathe, share, and be in community with others who understand the unique weight we carry in this work. So often, we pour into others while holding the complexities of our identities, often in isolation. But healing work isn’t meant to happen alone.
Whether you're a seasoned therapist, just starting out, or somewhere in between, you are welcome here.
Heal the Healer: A Community Circle for BIPOC Therapists
What happens when the people who spend so much of their time holding space for others get to be held, too?
This is a space for BIPOC therapists to step outside of the therapist role and simply come as ourselves. Together, we’ll slow down, exhale, and make room for the parts of us that don’t always get to be seen in our professional lives.
Through somatic practices, restorative justice-inspired circle conversation, altar-making, reflection, and collective witnessing, we’ll explore what it means to be cared for in community with others who understand the complexities of this work.
No fixing. No performing. No clinical expertise required. Just a space to rest, connect, be witnessed, and remember that we deserve care, too.
Meet our facilitator <3
Kalissa Sawyer Delgado (she/they/elle) is a queer, biracial Latine liberation-centered somatic therapist and community healer. Their work is rooted in their own healing journey of learning to trust themself, reconnect with their body, and come home to who they are beyond systems that tried to define them.
They move beyond surface-level healing and into the body, where so much of our truth and wisdom live. Their approach is informed by years of community organizing, as they believe in deep, embodied healing and the power of community.
Kalissa is passionate about creating spaces where you can be fully yourself: messy, tender, expansive, and real. And that is exactly what you can expect.
