Event description

The HealthTech Activator’s (HTA) new US Medical Device Reimbursement 101 online workshop will take place on 7 June 2023.

Many Kiwi medical device companies plan for launching in the United States (US) market from the beginning of their commercialisation journey. Beyond meeting regulatory requirements, the success of an eventual US launch also depends on a sound reimbursement strategy and early consideration for the development of any needed supporting evidence.

This workshop will:

  • Provide an overview of US market access landscape and regulatory vs reimbursement
  • Explore components of US medical device reimbursement - including types of codes and their settings, processes for new or modified codes, coverage decisions, and engagement with key payors
  • Discuss developing a reimbursement strategy considering coding pathways for coverage and key catalysts for attaining reimbursement
  • Elaborate on impacts of pursuing the wrong coding pathway
  • Provide case studies and debunk common myths associated with US reimbursement

The workshop is free for NZ-based medical device companies with an interest in understanding US reimbursement processes. The workshop is presented by Julie Garfield of TTi Health Research and Economics

Event details:

  • Online workshop via Zoom, 7 June 2023, 9am-11am including the Q&A session
  • The workshop will be recorded and included on the HTA webinars page later in June for those who can’t attend, but the Q&A session will not be recorded
  • Attendees will be able to submit questions throughout the online workshop
  • Cost: Free for NZ-based medical device companies
  • Attendance is limited to 20 individuals, with max 2 attendees per company
