    Event description

Join us for the latest session in our Healthy Edible Garden Series, where we focus on setting up a 'no-dig' urban edible garden. We will create a garden bed using 'green waste' and demonstrate the layered method where a garden bed can be made to plant directly into it. No Dig enriches the soil without disturbing it and reduces labour and weeds by using compost and mulch spread on top of the soil. This workshop will cover best practices for planting into and using compost and helping your plants grow!

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting, this workshop will provide you with practical tips and techniques to keep your edible garden thriving throughout the growing season. Bring your questions and get ready to cultivate a healthier, more productive, low waste, organic garden!

This workshop will involve demonstrations and practical activities that will be held in our small-space demonstration garden. Please wear covered shoes, sunscreen and a hat.

Who: This workshop is provided free to residents of the Inner West local government area. This is presented by the Inner West Green Living Centre, an initiative of Inner West Council and as numbers are limited, the workshop gives preference to residents of Inner West Council area.
