time dedicated to community connection and healing ❤️🩹
poetry/stories/discussion/sparks
we aim to make this a space where marginalised voices feel safe to share and are prioritised
~
we hope to plant seeds for intimacy, sharing and trust building, please come with curiosity and an open heart
everyone will have different tools and levels of practice, we want to welcome all, we are working this out together 💌
there will be potential for difficult topics to come up and we want to treat this with the utmost care and honour our boundaries and bravery in our vulnerability
we acknowledge the imperfections in and mistakes we commit through this process and in turn are able to learn, take responsibility and repair

we will be providing some snacks and cut fruit but we would also request participants bring a favourite snack/fruit to share to add to out combined snack altar, there will also be a tea station
~
funds to go to the costs of the event and to mutual aid fundraisers for Muhammad and Deema and Osama and his family who are rebuilding their lives in Gaza
~
please bring your fidget toys or anything else that will make you feel more comfortable in the space
masks encouraged and will be available at the door, please stay home if you’re feeling unwell
there will be seating on predominately stools and capacity is limited to ~20 participants
the space is wheelchair accessible but the toilets within the complex are not, please email jessielu313@gmail.com or message @_xiaodongxi on instagram for any accessibility requests or dietary needs, we will try to ensure your participation can be as meaningful as possible

this event is pt. 1 of a series of 2, the next event will be held at shop bao ngoc 5-8pm april 6th

we are held and inspired by the many community groups and individuals doing this type of work, including từ từ, TROU and red pocket press
~
this event has been dreamed up and will be held on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, sovereignty was never ceded, we acknowledge the long history and ongoing practice of storytelling by Aboriginal people across this continent and pay respect to this lineage
