Event description

Healthy Foot Pt. 2 is here!!!

Join us on Sunday April 6th from 5pm for a night of poetry, live music, congee 🍚, and soft chats at Shop Bao Ngoc

Craving for community? Healthy Foot is all about creating a caring space for soft+healing connection, born out of desire for community healing from qiqi (@_xiaodongxi) + liên (@liensworks).

This is a structured event including a segment in which participants are split into small groups to discuss prompts centred around community connection and self reflection. This is an optional activity and there will be an arts station led by Gabby of M.A.S.T. (Mutual Aid Self/Social Therapy) for anyone to go to at any time of the night. Alongside this will be music performances by musicians Aravindh and Jahan, and poetry readings from Kween Khali, pui, Jahan, and Jamali.

Food will be served during an intermission, with congee lovingly made by qiqi's parents <3.

This event is only possible through the interwoven structures and the community spaces that have so generously touched us.

Tickets will also be available at the door via cash or PayID. Funds raised will go to event costs and a fundrasier for Osama and his family in Gaza. Osama is a community organiser in the Gaza strip who has worked endlessly to raise funds to feed not only his own family but the families within his community. To date, he has provided food, sanitary products, and water to hundreds of families struggling in the ensuing genocide against Palestinians.

Masks are encouraged and available at the door. Please stay home and take care if you are feeling sick <3. Please bring your fidget toys or anything else that will make you feel more comfortable in the space.

This event has been dreamed up and will be held on the land of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and the Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. In coming together as community to share stories and nourishment, it is impossible to extricate ourselves from the land upon which we are meeting. The traditional owners of this land have come together upon it time and time again for thousands and thousands of years before us. That history will always belong to the land, and those of us who are settlers on this land hold the responsibility to remember and preserve that history, while looking forward towards true reparation efforts that may return the land to its rightful owners, who will for thousands and thousands of years to come, continue meeting upon their homeland. 🖤💛❤️
