Healthy North Coast Community Conversation Events
Event description
Community Conversations is for ALL members of the community, who are interested in learning more about community supports and services available in relation to ageing, loss, dying and grief. As the famous saying goes, “knowledge is power” and building your knowledge now on end-of-life matters is proven to have a positive impact on your quality of life when that time comes.
That knowledge can also support you if you are a current carer of a loved one or if you may be a carer in the future. In these informal sessions led by a facilitator and with your local health district palliative care team in attendance, we provide information and resources to help people think about what’s important.
We will answer any questions you have about how to live your life as fully and as comfortably as you can to the very end. We want to support you and members of your community to have increased confidence in starting conversations around end-of-life, and how to support those in their end-of-life experience, so the conversations we have are always done in a safe and friendly space.
Refreshments will be provided at each session. All attendees will receive some great printed resources and materials.
Topics covered include:
navigating end-of-life matters
dying as being a normal part of life
myth busting palliative care
advance care planning
