Event description
🌱 Healthy Soil = Healthy People Presentation with Craig Castree
6pm join us for a hearty supper, or 6:30 for the start of the presentations.
Join award-winning horticulturist and soil regeneration specialist Craig Castree for an inspiring and practical session on how healthy soil creates healthier food — and healthier people.
Do you grow tomatoes? Agriculture Victoria will also update us on the Tomato Potato Psyllid, found on the Bellarine last season. Learn how to recognise this serious pest and find out what to do if you spot it in your garden!
Craig Castree has over 45 years of hands-on experience in growing nutrient-dense food without chemicals, and has become a trusted voice in sustainable gardening. He’s the author of six books, founder of the RegenEdible Gardening movement, and a passionate educator working with schools, councils, and communities across Victoria.
Craig’s soil-first approach is simple but powerful: when we feed and protect the life in our soil, it gives back in abundance — nourishing plants, people, and the planet. Drawing on decades of experience in orchards, nurseries, and backyard gardens, Craig shares practical tools to regenerate tired soils, grow real food, and take control of your health from the ground up.
He currently serves as Vice President of the Werribee Park Heritage Orchard and is a regular voice on Melbourne radio including 3AW and Southern FM’s Molly’s Blooming Hour, & 3CR Radio Gardening show.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this session will leave you empowered to grow change — one patch of living soil at a time.
