  2. Workshop 1 - Changing Systems Through Connection – Mara Schneider, Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania ticket

    This workshop is for people who work - with communities and community based-organisations, - in communities and community facing organisations - are interested in Asset Based Community Development as a place-based approach. The focus will be on connecting and collaborating – what, why, how, who, why. The session draws on learning shared by Cormac Russell. About your workshop host: Mara loves being part of, and active within, communities. Whether volunteering at her local neighbourhood house, being on the Board of a community-based organisation or part of events. With a social work background, Mara has worked for over 30 years in health, education and community settings. Her current role is Development Officer with Neighbourhood Houses Tasmania.

  4. Workshop 3: Exploring Design in Community Innovation – Kok Kiong Ong, Dr Vanessa Ward, Associate Professor Ceridwen Owen, University of Tasmania ticket

    This workshop is being hosted by Dr Vanessa Ward (School of Architecture and Design, University of Tasmania) and Kok Kiong Ong School of Architecture and Design, University of Tasmania (Researcher/PhD Student) as part of a UTAS research project Adoption and Integration of Design for Public Innovation. Your participation will help explore how design tools are adopted and integrated in public innovation practice. This research explores opportunities and challenges in public innovation, focusing on how diverse groups adopt design to address public needs. The workshop investigates how design tools are used and adapted in community engagement settings. The study aims to generate insights that inform and improve public innovation strategies and contribute to academic knowledge.
