Healthy Transition through adolescence
Description
The Menstrual Education Program and a healthy transition from girl-hood to woman-hood.
5 sessions and a celebration day.
Over the course of 5 sessions your young person will be gently guided through tender topics such as self-care, female anatomy and physiology, cycles of our lives and menstruation which includes charting. Sitting with other young menstruators builds connection, empowerment, self-esteem and the confidence to engage with conversation around such topics.
Our sixth week is a surprise honouring week. Where they are celebrated as a rite of passage into this knowledge with their mothers/carers or friends.
Each week will be guided with simple craft activities, snacks, games and lots of fun and laughter. These casual conversations encourage these topics to become normalised and less taboo.
Mothers, carers or mentors are free to come along and engage. In fact it is encouraged as our young menstruators can gain insight to what it was and is like for a person from a different generation navigating menstruation. Only one reservation needed per carer/daughter.
There are 2 groups.
Group 1 Begins October 15th - 3:30pm in Milton area and finishes November 19th.
Group 2 Begins October 6th - 10am in the Nowra area and finishes November 5th.
