HeartBeats: Dec 2024
Event description
We've reached the final HeartBeats of 2024! What a wild ride it's been. Thanks for being a part of this incredible journey with us. Let's get together to close out the year in style. It's been a crazy year for many of us, but even in the chaos and darkness, there is always light. The theme of this month is joy. Come dressed in clothes that spark joy for you, and you're invited to share on stage from a place of joy. Remember that this is an invitation of course, and all forms of emotion and expression are always welcome.
HeartBeats is an open mic at its essence, but it is so much more. You’re invited to come and share your open heart with a present audience who are primed to receive and show appreciation. Expressions come in the shapes and forms of music, poetry, comedy, or whatever the performer chooses. Due to the vast number of talented humans in the HeartBeats community, please get down early and put your name on the list, because we won't have time to put everyone on. Apologies in advance to those who won't make it on, but more reason to keep coming along.

The last few months our Zen Thai Massage bodyworkers had their hands full (lol). Very excited to be welcoming them back again to
offer you bodywork throughout the event.
What is Zenthai Shiatsu?
Zenthai Shiatsu is a holistic therapy integrating Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage and Osteopathic techniques. It is an effective structural and energetic form of bodywork that invites freedom into the body, releasing areas of held tension, and increasing the flow of energy.
What to Expect:
Zenthai Shiatsu is a hands-on movement based therapy incorporating stretching, pulsing, rocking and stillness. This modality is received fully clothed and lying on a thin, cushioned massage mat on the floor. The session is tailored to each individual’s needs and can be offered as relaxation or therapy with a specific focus.

HeartBeats Local Artist Grant:
The HeartBeats family are proud to announce the launch of our first Local Artists Grant – and we want YOU to enter!
The grant will be available to all local artists that have a vision for their art: be it music production, poetic,
visual, performative, comedic, prophetic, digital, dramatic, and so on. Basically, anything you’d love to make but
haven’t been able to raise the funds for… we got you.
To fund our Local Artists Grant, the Heartbeats family are putting aside proceeds from each community event we hold –
and making sure those funds go straight back into the community via this grant. We will be releasing a grant application form every few months.
