Event description

Happy Autumn Friends!

As the leaves turn golden and the air gets crisp, we're bringing our next HeartBeats gathering to a cosy wellness space in Research, Vic. In honour of Women's History Month this March, we're calling this one "Her Edition".

We've curated a full line-up of incredible women to feature, with the ever-vibrant Taeana both hosting and performing. As usual, we will have a number of open mic slots for the audience. This is your invitation to share music, poetry, or art in celebration of the women who make this world a more beautiful place to be. That said, there's no pressure to stick to the theme—you're welcome to express whatever feels true for you.

----

What is HeartBeats?

At its core, HeartBeats is an open mic—but it's really so much more. It's a space to feel welcomed and supported, to share what's on your heart with a present, appreciative audience.

Music, poetry, comedy, or whatever moves you—this is a night for open expression. With so much talent in the HeartBeats community, we recommend arriving early to pop your name on the list. We won’t be able to fit everyone in, and we're sorry in advance if you miss out on stage time—but that's just more reason to keep coming back.

(P.S. Everyone who jumps up on stage gets a free cup of chai.)

Featuring this month:

- Taeana (guest host)

Fueled by the desire to share authentically, Taeana’s music speaks to her experience and understanding of the world around her. Songwriting has been a form of therapy, healing many wounds along the way. With a profound understanding of the power of words, every lyric she writes is crafted with intention. In a world full of discourse, the messages within Taeana’s lyrics serve as a reminder of personal light, strength, and the impact we have on the world around us.

- Anna Du Vé

ADV’S music is born of the heart, raised by Jazz, sung with Soul, and an indecent amount of scatting. Expect captivating storytelling and life lessons expressed in song, through the groove-based & blues infused keys and vocals of ADV’s original music.

El (Eluminate)

After exploring many healing paths, El found her calling in guiding others through breath, movement, sound, and bodywork.

As a somatic practitioner, she creates safe, intuitive spaces for people to release tension, heal, and gain clarity. Her work weaves together six key elements—breath, movement, touch, sound, emotions, and meditation—to support nervous system regulation, self-awareness, and lasting transformation.

☕ Chai Tent

This month, Joey and Tuli are taking a well-deserved rest after holding down the Moby Dick stage at Esoteric. Stepping in to keep us nourished, we’re excited to welcome Amila Kaye, who will be serving chai, cacao, and snacks throughout the night.

Please note: Full meals won’t be available, so please bring your own food or snacks to stay fuelled.

----

💆 Zen Thai Massage

We’re lucky to have Zenthai practitioners offering bodywork (for a fee) during the event to help you unwind, ground, and stay connected.

What is Zenthai Shiatsu?

Zenthai Shiatsu blends Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage, and Osteopathic techniques into a holistic, hands-on therapy. It works with the body’s structure and energy, releasing tension and inviting freedom of movement.

What to Expect:

Sessions are fully clothed on a cushioned mat, using gentle stretching, pulsing, rocking, and moments of stillness. Each session is tailored to your needs—whether you’re seeking deep relaxation or focused therapeutic support.

Your practitioners for this edition will be Angela & Malika.

----

🎨 Art Zone

The Art Zone is back! We’ll have materials on hand for painting, drawing, and creating whatever your heart feels called to express. Settle into your flow state and add your own creative spark to the night.

Your art zone captain for this edition will be Jasmine Butera.
