Hearts & Hands: Tending To The Lands & Waters We Call Home
Event description
Join us for a day of connection, learning, and creativity in service and appreciation for the lands and waters we call home (Bunarong/Boonwurrung land, the Mornington Peninsula)
This event is part of a community environmental awareness project, emerging from a local artist and musician's, Mietta (https://www.instagram.com/miet...), Agents for Change Fellowship with Earthwatch Australia earlier this year (https://earthwatch.org.au/educ...). As part of the fellowship, Mietta and Earthwatch have collaborated with local place-based organisations, community members and creatives to support a bringing together of stories and wisdom to deepen our connection and appreciation for place, environment and our interconnected role in stories and ecology.
Together, we’ll celebrate community, creativity, and our shared responsibility to the land - it is a celebration not to be missed!
Key info:
10am-4pm @ The Revillaging Project (Boneo)
Bring: an open heart, a bowl & spoon for lunch, a willingness (and attire) to get your hands and knees in the soil, gardening gloves (if you have them), a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle
Provided: lunch (gf and vegetarian options available), biodynamic community farming experience w/ Josh & The Revillaging Project, art integration w/ Hypahe Cocreates, a whole lot of fun!
What to expect?
We’ll begin with biodynamic community farming and insights into the Infinity Regenerative Farm project (https://www.instagram.com/infi...) with Josh (get ready to get your hands in the soil!)
Followed by a shared community lunch and story sharing among the beautiful wetlands of The Revillaging Project (https://www.instagram.com/the_...)
We will share in a moment of yarning and yidaki meditation with Lionel from Living Culture (https://www.livingculture.org....)
Closing with a beautiful place-based art integration with Hyphae CoCreates (https://www.instagram.com/hyph...), who will guide us through a weaving together of love and appreciation for these lands and waters we call home.
Tickets are on a sliding scale of $25-$65 - the greater the donation, the more we can give back to Hyphae, Infinity Farm and its regeneration efforts here on the Mornington Peninsula.
We pay our respects to the traditional owners of the lands and waters we gather, share and tend to, Boonwurrung/Bunarong Country, and seek to honour the stories, legacy and love of this place we call home.
