Description

Everyone has the capacity for creative expression and enjoyment. Heide’s Creative Age program is designed specifically for people living with early stage dementia and their carers. Sessions promote social engagement, health and wellbeing through nature and the nonverbal avenue of art.

About the program

Join qualified art therapist Tanis Douglas in Heide’s beautiful gardens, sculpture park and galleries for life-enhancing small group activities that facilitate interpersonal connections. Each session includes art therapy utilising nature-based materials in a workshop setting and is adapted to best suit individual needs and bridge any barriers. Participants will experience the emotional and social joys of being with others in a welcoming environment.

Art therapist Tanis Douglas is trained in integrating art and psychology and sees all program participants as respected collaborators, assisting them to express themselves and access their creativity.

$60 per session
Members and Manningham Residents: $40 per session

Ticket price includes entry for one adult living with dementia and their carer. Additional adults incur an extra fee. Sessions run for 90 minutes. Bookings are strictly limited. Entry guaranteed by booked ticket only.

Regular weekly or fortnightly attendance can be beneficial.
