Public Holiday At You Yangs Regional Park is a first time collaboration between McKisko/Mess Esque’s Helen Franzmann and solo artist/producer, Nick Huggins, the result of a series of improvisations built around an agreed code of practice - shared intuition, shared space, shared understandings of sound and structure, and so forth. The outcome is music of great nuance and intimacy, a lowercase assortment of gentle vocals (sometimes filtered via a vocoder, though never obnoxiously or intrusively so), sparkling keys, ethereal flute and diegetic sound that borders the intersection of folk and ambient music.

Field Commander Ali:

Field Commander Ali is the solo project of Ali Mollica, a folk song person living on the South Coast of NSW, Australia . The Next From Field Commander, her new record and second under that taken name, was recorded in her bedroom in Stanwell Park, a beachside town surrounded by bushland. This beuguiling folk record has been released by Brierfield Flood Press in Australia, and World of Echo in UK/ Europe.

Fresh from a tour of Japan and Europe, including shows with Tenniscoats, this will be Field Commander Ali's first Brisbane appearance.

Thrum

A new electroacoustic folk project comprised of Maeve Parker (Witness K), Joel Saunders (Yearns, Spirit Bunny) and Henry Reese (Lite Fails). The trio create spectral drones and organic ambience using flute, trumpet, banjo, mandolin, accordion and live tape loops. They perform alongside past versions of themselves.
