Sky Sangha weekly gathering
Event description
Welcome to Sky Sangha, a vibrant, new online community of emerging Dharma teachers in the Western Insight tradition. Our mission is to create an inclusive space for meditators across Australia, fostering a sense of community and connection.
At Sky Sangha, we are dedicated to sharing the teachings of the Buddha in a way that is accessible and relevant to all in these modern times. Join us as we explore the Dharma (the teachings of the Buddha), support each other’s practice, and build a nationwide network rooted in wisdom and compassion.
Each 90 minute session will include a guided meditation, an offering of the Buddha’s teachings in the form of a Dharma Talk, and a period of inquiry and connection.
Tuesday’s at 7pm AEDT (NSW/VIC time) on Zoom.

Tuesday 7th October
Kate Duncan: The Futility of Trying to Control Life (and what to do instead)
Tuesday 14th October
Suzie Brown: Fear and Anxiety
Tuesday 21st October
Roger Wilde: Untangling our Emotional Knots

The Cost:
In keeping with a 2500 year tradition, no upfront fee will be charged for our gatherings. At the end of each session, you are invited to give a donation (dana) in support of the teachers to continue their work.
What is Dana?
Dana is the Pali word (the language of the Buddha’s teachings) that translates to generosity. Offering dana is a 2500 year old practice that dates back to the time of the Buddha. It honours that the teachings are priceless, and therefore are offered freely.
The teachers' time, preparation, planning and delivery are all offered for free. At the end of the session, you can offer your generosity, or Dana, to support the teachers to continue sharing the Dharma and offering retreats.
There is no recommended amount for Dana, it is entirely up to you to explore (with mindfulness) what feels right for you. The first $5 of your dana will go to the running costs of the sangha, the remainder to the teacher for their time and effort.
