Help us Reach Our Goal - Fundraising for a Community Van
Blind Sports WA is a not-for-profit organisation with no regular funding — and transport continues to be one of the biggest barriers faced by people with vision impairment, especially children and young people. Most of our sports and recreation activities take place on weekends, when public transport is limited and support workers can be unreliable or unavailable. Even when NDIS funding is in place, it often doesn’t stretch to cover the extra costs of weekend transport or additional support hours. As a result, many of our members are left behind — isolated, unable to join in, and missing out on the confidence, connection, and joy that comes from getting active and being part of a team. We want to change that. We’re raising $60,000 to purchase a safe, comfortable minibus that can be driven by volunteers with a standard licence. This will allow our members to travel to sports, recreation, and community events — together, safely, and affordably.
