Helsinki Climate Cafe
Event description
A climate cafe is a quiet, reflective space where people can come to share their feelings about climate change.
Designed by Psychology for a Safe Climate, there is no guest speaker at a climate cafe; no advice given, no call for action. It's a a supportive, facilitated space, where you can voice concerns that may not be welcomed elsewhere. You’re invited to share with interested others how you’re really feeling at this challenging time. Whatever you’re feeling is okay and valued. And it’s fine just to listen. Sharing, listening and being quiet together are all part of our Café.
This cafe will be facilitated by Jamie Dunk, an experienced PSC facilitator and co-director of the Ecological Emotions Research Lab at the University of Sydney, supported by Taneli Saari, executive director of Tunne Ry, a not-for-profit organisation which provides possibilities for groups and individuals to process their emotions and thoughts related to climate and environmental changes and the uncertainty of the future.
For assistance on the evening please contact Taneli Saari (taneli@tunne.org or 0503886200).
