This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

This interactive workshop will focus on the opportunities for whole plant utilisation in the cannabis and hemp industry.

This workshop is aimed at those working in the cannabis and hemp industry, including businesses, researchers, government agencies or service providers. The aim is to stimulate ideas and discussions around whole plant utilisation that are relevant to the needs of the industry.

Through a mix of interactive presentations and breakout sessions, the workshop will address how finding ways to use the whole cannabis plant could help build a sustainable industry with diverse value streams.

Topics covered will include:

  • Five years into the future: An outlook for the hemp and medicinal cannabis industries
  • Voice of industry: Understanding plant utilisation beyond primary use
  • Energy focus: Setting priorities and next steps.

A more detailed agenda will be available shortly.

All attendees will receive a copy of the workshop presentation slides.

This workshop is a joint initiative by AgResearch, Callaghan Innovation, NZ Hemp Industry Association, the NZ Medicinal Cannabis Council, Plant and Food Research, and SCION.

It is part of a wider project supported by the Bioresource Processing Alliance (BPA), to provide an industry-led approach to evaluating potential commercial options for hemp or cannabis plants beyond their primary use.
