After the presentation, attendees are welcome to purchase a book and/or get their book signed.

Pre-registration is closing on Friday, 5/30, at 12 PM. Pre-registered attendees will receive priority seating. Walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows.

Join us for a robust conversation between two fantastic middle grade authors as they discuss the importance of writing sports narratives for everyone, including those often written out of the joy of sports.

Biography

Hena Khan writes award-winning children’s books in various formats. Hena’s bestselling novels include Amina’s Voice and More to the Story. She is the author of the Zayd Saleem Chasing the Dream, Zara’s Rules, and Super You! series. Hena’s acclaimed picture books include Golden Domes and Silver Lanterns, Under My Hijab, and Behind My Doors.

Kyla Zhao is an award-winning author whose novels spotlight female empowerment and minority representation—winning praise from CBS, NBC, ABC, Vogue, Buzzfeed, etc. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree and recognized by the California State Assembly, Kyla is also a sought-after speaker who has presented at Twitch, Pinterest, Oracle, etc. A Stanford ’21 alum, she now works at a Silicon Valley tech company.
