July Heritage Building Sketching Workshop

Price £10 GBP + BF Get tickets

Event description

Ruth Ryder and Bev Bush will be hosting a 'Heritage Sketching Workshop' from The Engine Room on July 27th, 1:30 - 4:30, in appreciation of the decorative Arts and Crafts style that is part of the lovely Wayfarers arcade.
This stunning Grade II listed landmark, opened on the Lord Street in 1898 is a fine example of Victorian architecture, with its intricate metalwork and glass roof, stained glass windows, tiles and handrails, balconies, and mahogany shop fronts, with less emphasis on excessive ornamentation.

We’ll be encouraging you to explore the arcade and fill your sketchbooks with drawings, looking closely at the detail in the beautiful botanical motifs and capturing the decorative flora and fauna and other organic motifs and architectural features that fill the space.
Drawing regularly is great for improving your skills but can also be lots of fun and help to reduce
the stresses of everyday life!
