Heston Russell ret'd Special Forces Major: Learning through Crisis, from Military combat Operations & COVID
Online Event
Event description
Heston Russell is a retired Special Forces Major, here to help build better Australians, united with purpose and boundless in potential. Heston founded the Voice Of A Veteran movement in September 2020, as a platform for Veterans to speak out and be heard and to take action to fix the system that should be projecting our patriotic heroes to greatness after service.
To combat the mental health crisis affecting our Veteran community, Heston has launched a mission to break down stigmas surrounding mental health and vulnerability. Doing what he can to encourage Veterans to support each other and help all Australians to better understand contemporary Veterans and the value they represent.
Heston is a fierce advocate for Veterans and doing what is right. Which has led to the launch of the new charity organisation Veteran Support Force in July 2021 - to lead the way in proactive support for our community and engagement with the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide.
He believes each and every one of us has the ability to do whatever is needed, to act with an authentic purpose empowered by responsibility - not entitlement - and to make sure that no one ever feels alone or without hope.
