Event description

HexBugs are small vibrating robots that move around like they have a mind of their own. We'll work together to build a massive HexBug habitat from commercial track, recyclyed items, and whatever else we can find. We'll then set our bugs loose to see what they do! This workshop is geared toward grades 3-8 and requires some ability to work with others.Participants will go home with their unique bristlebot to continue their investigations. It's a fun and creative way to spend an afternoon. Parents should not be surprised if they suddenly want to join in! Each participant will leave with their own HexBug and ideas for how to build a habitat at home.

Participants who register for this workshop along with the morning Bristlebot Olympics workshop will be invited to stay for a short, nut-free lunch break between classes.

This workshop is open to students in grades 3-8. We cannot make accommodations for siblings outside of this age group.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A SIGNED WAIVER ON FILE. You can print it in advance or sign it onsite. While drop-offs are fine, an adult must escort participants into the space and provide two contact numbers in case of an emergency. Please do not drop your child at the door. Likewise, an adult must pick the child up from the space at the end of the workshop. Thank you for understanding.
