Overall workshop outcomes

By the end of the three weeks, participants will:

• Understand basic watercolour materials and how to use them.

• Explore the relationship between water, pigment and paper.

• Learn fundamental watercolour techniques.

• Understand colour mixing and simple colour theory.

• Experiment with washes, textures, layering and lifting.

• Develop confidence in creating simple watercolour paintings.

• Complete a small collection of experimental studies and finished artworks.

• Discover their own approach to working with watercolour.
