Hidden SeddonÂ
A series of guided heritage walks discovering the secrets & stories of Seddon's retail precinct, homes and local pubs. Celebrating the rich history of Seddon in conjunction with Seddon Village Traders Association and Footscray Historical Society, as part of Australian Heritage Month (18 April - 18 May).
Friday 5th May - Seddon Shopping WalkÂ
This walk will encompass the history and stories of the local shopping precinct including businesses, owners and staff in Charles and Victoria Streets as well as a few places in Gamon Street. This will include some of the local characters of the period.Â
Thursday 11th May - Seddon Houses and Residents.Â
Memories of the past residents and stories of their homes and of the many colourful characters of the period.
Saturday 13th May - Pubs of the Area.Â
Visits to some of the local hotels with stories of the owners, clientele and the history of those establishments, with an emphasis on local boxers who became owners and barmen.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Meeting place - all walks will begin at Seddon Deadly Sins Cafe, 148 Victoria Street Seddon, and end in Seddon Village. Discounts and special offers to some local businesses will be available to ticket holders on the day of the walk. Offers will be made available prior to the event.Â
All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to local charity, Reaching Out in the Inner West of Melbourne supporting people experiencing homelessness or in need.
