Sun, 29 Jun, 6pm - 7pm AEST

Event description

Join us for a special screening of Hidden Threads, a documentary that brings together the voices of two Indigenous people—a Burramattagal woman Jayne Christian, from so-called Australia and a Palestinian man Ahmed Abadlah, from Gaza—whose lives intertwine on stolen land. The film explores the shared legacies of colonisation, land theft, and cultural survival.

Following the screening, stay for a delicious finger food and a Q&A with the main characters of the documentary and the filmmaker Ala'a Al Qaisi as they share their reflections on the film's journey, their lived experiences, and what it means to stand in solidarity across continents and cultures:

Ms Jayne Christian: A Burramattagal woman based in Wagga

Ahmed Abadla: A Palestinian from Gaza

Ala’a Al-Qiasi: A Palestinian filmmaker
