Matt has led teams of hundreds of data scientists, multidisciplinary data product teams in a Fortune 500 company, and he’s sat on the Facebook Measurement Council & Google Measurement Roundtable. To be successful, you need to clearly understand what value is delivered by infrastructure and what is delivered by using the data. You must also know when to ‘jump off the cliff’ and have deep faith in data science, versus knowing when to ignore it entirely.

    Matt is passionate about creating cutting-edge Customer Experience through data-driven marketing and product development. He has spent almost 10 years working at Booking.com in a series of global roles including leading Marketing Science, Customer Insights and Data Science. In his current role, Matt is the Director Analytics & Data Science in the Global Strategy & Business Development team of Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG; the owner of Booking.com, Agoda, Kayak, Priceline.com, Rentalcars.com and OpenTable - market cap of USD$75B). He has represented Booking.com on the Global Facebook Measurement Council and the Google Measurement Roundtable. Matt holds a PhD in Psychology from Victoria University of Wellington.
