Highgate Playgroup Member Parents Event: Children First Aid Course
Event description
Highgate Playgroup is being visited by Royal Life Saving WA! Royal Life Saving WA is a not-for profit organisation, serving the community as the largest provider of water safety education in our state. Their volunteers, members, trainers, employees and lifesavers are found in almost all communities. They are an Incorporated Association and charitable organisation endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office.
Royal Life Saving WA believes that everyone should know the lifesaving skills of resuscitation and first aid. Drowning is the leading cause of preventable death in children under the age of five in Australia and while adult supervision is the best prevention strategy, in the event of a drowning, CPR performed at the scene could be the difference between life and death.
The course is designed for parents and carers of children under the age of five. The session will cover child and infant CPR and first aid for common childhood injuries including choking, poisoning and burns. This is a community education initiative only. Attendees may be provided with a certificate of attendance, but it is not a qualification course.
Please note, this event is only available for current highgate playgroup members' parents (if you would like to become a member, head HERE) and spots are limited.
