    Hilary Geddes Quartet ‘Parkside’ Tour

“Hilary Geddes is a strikingly distinctive guitarist. Her compositions take in a broad sweep of possibilities” - John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald

Originally from Griffith, Sydney-based guitarist and composer Hilary Geddes is an emerging star of the Australian scene – a must-see performer!

“★★★★1/2 … writes with an elegant rigour and panache…” – Limelight Magazine

Recipient of Australia’s most prestigious jazz award in 2021, The Freedman Jazz Fellowship, Hilary Geddes leads a quartet comprised of Sydney’s new generation of jazz stars. Featuring the stellar Maximillian Alduca (double bass), Alexander Inman-Hislop (drums) and Matt Harris (piano), the quartet is beautifully synchronized to create unique sonic landscapes – expansive and uplifting music that echoes the likes of Bill Frisell and Ry Cooder.

Geddes’ acclaimed debut album Parkside was released in 2021 with ABC Jazz as part of the ABC Jazz Scholarship and the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award, bringing young Australian voices to the wider public. Growing up in Griffith, much of the music on the album is inspired by places in the Riverina.

“Parkside is a culmination of songs about the places that have moved and marked me, especially the Riverina, where I grew up. The Freedman Fellowship will enable me to take my music home and to perform it not only in the places that inspired me but before the communities and people who have shaped me. What an incredible privilege!” – Hilary Geddes
