What's the difference between Hillarys Community Kindergarten and my local school's kindy?

There are more similarities than differences! Community kindergartens offer purpose-designed environments just for your kindy kid, with a focus on play-based learning. Hillarys Community Kindergarten is endorsed by parenting and education expert and author, Maggie Dent, because we deliver a kindy program focused on what is best for children at this age and stage in their education. 

• A community kindergarten DOES NOT cost any more than a school-based kindy (usually a voluntary contribution of less than $250/year)
• We DO cover the required curriculum, just as a school-based kindy would
• Kids attend kindy 2.5 days per week no matter where they attend (we run on a 2-day / 3-day alternating week schedule)
• ANYONE can attend Hillarys Community Kindergarten, no matter where you live
• We DO offer before and after kindy care, via Wonderland
• Unlike school-based kindergartens, uniforms aren't required 
• We are guided each day by the energy and curiosity of your kids - no need to go by school sirens to move us through the day
• We are tucked away next to a big green space, away from the hustle and bustle of a large primary school
