Hillbilly Goats at Queen St.Hall
Event description
Hailin’ from , Queensland, The Hillbilly Goats are a hog-wild trad-folk, roots, and bluegrass stampede, churnin’ out Appalachian mountain tunes with a true-blue Aussie wallop. Crowned 2022 Australian Folk Band of the Year and snatchin’ Golden Fiddle Awards in 2020, they’ve rustled up four Golden Guitar nods for their banjo-pluckin’, fiddle-screechin’, double-bass-thumpin’, harmonica-wailin’, tap-dancin’ hoedown. “Keepin’ it Real” ain’t just a sayin’—it’s their gospel, spinnin’ tales of 1710–1940s ditties that’ll learn ya somethin’ ‘fore they burn the barn down.
Captained by Goat Boy (Bryce Wearne) with Amy Goat kickin’ up dust, these varmints swap instruments like moonshine jugs, with Goat Boy jugglin’ drums, banjo, and harmonica in a one-man tornado. Their Nash Chambers-cooked Down Foggy Mountain (2016) scored CMAA hollers, and they’ve tore up Tamworth Country Music Festival. Sportin’ corsets, fishnets, and harmonies sweeter’n possum pie, they hog-tied Cairns Timeout Awards (2012–14). Get on board with these Goats for a britches-rippin’, foot-stompin’, yee-hawin’ riot that’ll leave your crowd crowin’ louder’n a rooster at dawn!
